January 2012 SMSL Board Meeting Update:

1.  Fees - The season fee for SMSL will remain at $60 and the board will do everything it can to keep it this way.  A very important part of this is sponsors from the community.  Without sponsors, we will not be able to keep your cost down.  Let us know if you know a business or individual that would sponsor SMSL!

The theme for the Spring league is European Championship.  There will be a new draft format this season to help make the teams as balanced as possible.  The board and captains will rate all of the players in the draft as A, B, or C.  This will assure that each team receives the same (or close to the same) amount of quality players.

4. Officials - The board is in the process of evaluating the current officials performance and fees and will meet with the leagues Officials Assignor in February to make arrangements for the Spring season.

5. New Partner - Peter Christofilakos will be helping the board in the following ways:

  • Continue being a sponsor with Soccerworld
  • Provide the league with new balls for spring 2012
  • Manage the new fields
  • Promote the SMSL and provide sign up sheets at Soccerworld
  • Help us get the best price on shirts

6. Gray Noll - Long time SMSL sponsor Gray Noll is running for the State Senate and having a fundraiser Monday January 30th from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm at Fulgenzi's Trattoria in Chatham (214 West Walnut St). We need to help this guy out!!   $10 per person, $25 per family and $50 per sponsor.

The next Board meeting is in February. The date will be posted soon.   All board meetings are open to the public.
