SMSL Meeting 8/18/08

Solomon, Calderon, Bundy, Jimenez, Purser, Vanderkolk


1.  Treasurer's report-  Balance on hand of about $4,200 with another $1,800 in revenue pending.

2.  Med Kit-  Approved to spend up to $50 on medical kit for storage box. Bundy will purchase.

3.  Playoffs will be on 2 weekends.  All teams make playoff.  1st place has a bye.  Quarter final games played on Sat of Week 1, Semi finals on Sun of Week 1, Final on Sunday of Week 2. 

4.  Keychains to winning team.  Solomon to get keychains and get traveling trophy rehabbed and updated with plates.

5.  Finals committee is working.  Think of doing something for semi finals and well as finals.

6.  SMSL night at UIS soccer games.  SMSL to promote UIS on SMSL Web site and maybe try to do a mass attendance.  

7.  Director changes-  Calderon to talk with Turner and see if Turner wants to participate or wants to yeild position to new appointment (Helmy)

8.  Supplemental draft discussion.  Every team will draft one player in addition to any drops they may have.  Supplemental to be at Sep Board meeting.

9.  League to pay entry fee for SMSL team to participate in Internationals Tourney.  Sergio to get team together.

10.  League policy will be when refs scheduled to run a 3 man system are required to run a 2 man system because the third refs didn't show up, the 2 working refs will split the money which would have been paid to the 3 refs.

11.  Discussion of doing a food drive (bring a canned good kind of thing) for final.
